I enjoyed this story for its survival components, but also because the perspective is unique.  There are lots of stories from the viewpoint of adults who find themselves totally unprepared for a TEOTWAWKI event, but it was refreshing to imagine the take of a group of adolescents who should not yet have to shoulder such burdens alone.

Kathy's Recollections is a big book. You won't finish this one in a single sitting! It contains some violence, which is unavoidable in a realistic tale of survival, as well as valuable lesson learning, relationship building, and heartwarming coming togethers. If you like survival stories, you won't want to miss this one!

In this unique story, Kathy gives an eye-witness account, slanted toward what interests her most, carpentry and human relationships, skimping on subjects she finds less compelling, such as nature and animals. Details of her interest run deep, to being instructive. And we are awed by her realistic portrayal of relationships. Through Kathy, the author pulls us into the multitude of personalities and adventures as the youngsters learn to handle dangers both inside and outside the camp. The kids grow up fast.

It’s a rare thing that I step outside of my comfort zone, but that’s exactly what I did this week with Sarah’s Spaceship Adventure by Stan Morris. I’ve read sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, dystopian adventures, satires, and hundreds of combinations of others; I have not, however, ever read a space love story. Not just a space love story but one with a mix of action and adventure that keeps it interesting.

Normally I would not read a book in this genre but Im glad that I read this one. This was a great book. The author did a wonderful job with descriptions and making you feel as if you were actually in the book. The book has a great storyline and great romance. The destiny aspect of this book between the two characters was awesome as well especially since the families do not like each other. I would definitely recommend this book to others and will be looking forward to the authors other books.

Intriguing Reviews March 20, 2012

The relationship between Elly and Magesty was sweet, he was able to portray their passion for each other without turning it into a trashy romance novel. What I truly enjoyed the most was Elly and Daina’s friendship. He really nailed it with the sisterly love.
